Here's a video from my gig at the Lowland Games 08, as promised...it's the last song from the set, A Carnival of Black. The audio quality isn't fantastic, but it gives you an idea of this new UNRELEASED song that you can't find anywhere else in the world ;-) Watch out for the guy towards the end having the time of his life! _ the start of something new

It's always a good place to start once something has ended. At the start of something new. And now I feel that one chapter has closed, and I understand that little bit more about the music industry, the metal cogs greased with money, I have something to write about.

And that's just what I'll do! With loads of new songs from the summer, lots of ideas recorded on my phone, and a lot of new inspiration, I've decided to start recording a new album. Yes- ALBUM, full-length.....well that's the idea anyway. And it's going to be kept under wraps, so unfortunately there will be yet more silence from me for a while to come... But fear not! I shall be hard at work, and when you hear from me again it will be nothing short of GLORIOUS. Or that's the plan at least.

I plan to keep you updated with little videos, snippets of ideas, random shizzle, so don't worry, it won't all be silent. But work has already begun, new ideas being thrown about, and while I plan to keep you in the loop somewhat I want you all to be stunned when I release the first single.

I'll be doing it all myself once again, no major label backing...but I hope to impress nonetheless. That rhymes. See? My creativity is just pouring out.

_ I should have worn a hat

Well, it turns out I didn't make it through in Orange Unsigned Act either on votes or by being picked by the powers that be. Soooo I went yesterday into London to queue for 5 hours like some soulless X-Factor audition to play acoustically for 2 women & a camera. Results of that today or tomorrow. Alex Zane was there too, wearing (practically) the same shirt as me, interviewing everyone around except for me - and then I noticed something curious. All the people he interviewed were wearing hats. Hats! It might be some sort of conspiracy....well, that's what I would say were I the suspicious kind. Hmm.

Made friends with a couple of decent blokes from the Isle of White band Gweido - who got up at 4am to get the ferry and get into London for the auditions! I do not envy them. Oh, and a hello to Purple Bubble who I finally met yesterday after (apparently not) talking to them online (and talking to their PA instead, pretending to be them..!?). Thanks for the beer guys, it was needed.

_ a big fat thank you

This post will pretty much be echoing what I wrote on my Orange Unsigned blog, but I wanted to stick it up here too to reach a wider audience - after all, now the voting's closed, I'm guessing you won't feel the need to visit my page as often now to vote for me, right?

Well, I just felt that all that is left to say is

to all the great people who have given me such good feedback on my music, and all the great people who have voted for me - people I've never met before. Imagine that. It's almost as if my music is finally being appreciated by a wider audience!

Well, here's hoping I get through, make the big-time and get to thank you more personally, possibly in the way of bakey-cakey-goodness (no not with Nutrigrain bars, they're not that nice), or just a big piss-up-after-party. Who knows.

In any case, no matter what happens, it's been invaluable to hear your comments and reviews on my music - oh, and did I say thank you to everyone who voted for me?

Well isn't Orange Unsigned Act fun? I've talked with so many people now, listened to lots of good music. Some great music, even. Had loads of great feedback, so a big THANK YOU to y'all out there.

well that was a long silence. it's a little hard keeping everything up to date when on holiday in south america, so apologies for the serious lack of updates. im back now though, and with some news:

With regards to the Lowland Games (which seem like a lifetime away now...), the night was great, and I ended up headlining after all. Issues with the backing tracks & issues with the guitar didn't seem to detract from what was a incredibly fun night, complete with stage invasion and gyrating fans!
