_ better late than never

Last Friday I began work on an old song that's been kicking about since last year..I played it a couple of times at the Undercroft Open Mic night (at Westminster Uni). It has evolved since then and is sounding nicely electronic, a departure from my original intentions for the song (which involved clarinet, sax, piano and trombone...) but I think it works. Will continue work on it tomorrow.

_ a day of remixing

Today was a day for polishing, sculpting and refining. Red Flag and The Redshift sound even better, and Rome is near completion. Very very near completion. Also started a bit of work on something new, don't know how that will turn out. we shall see!

Nice day today in Brick Lane and Oxford Street, saw some nice flowers (20 roses for a fiver, apparently..) and popped into Rough Trade. Tried composing the next song on the tube...some inspiring rhythms there =] Took some pics


and felt like a tourist. Not as grassy as Somerset. but picturesque in its own way

spent today in the Bombshelter recording a new track for the up-coming EP. spent much of the time flicking between Rome and Cash For Honours....the latter sounding very poppy...perhaps a bit too dancey. We shall see.
rome is coming along nicely, forgot my camera so no pretty pictures. Very atmospheric, and builds and builds into....a city...no wait, an empire? see what I did there?

_ new year new year

new year, new recordings.

After a Christmas break in Somerset I'm back in London and rearing to go back into the studio. Although I say that after every break and there's usually something that goes wrong....in any case, the plan is to start recording a new song tomorrow. If the studios are open. If not then...well, I guess I'm stuck.

Should be putting up some more photos and general eye candy too with my new camera =]
